AGENT UPDATE

They say you have to have "thick skin" to deal in the life of literary agents and rejections. Hey, I know the competition is fierce with thousands of talented writers with fresh ideas. However, much like any writer believes that their work is unique and fresh and perhaps innovative, I do, too!

Last week with Mercury Retrograde, I received a rejection letter from Sarah Lazin Books. While they commended me on my detailed book proposal, "Victoria Speaking..." and even complimented me on my platform with accolades about my documentary on Victoria Woodhull -- they passed stating "a very tough market."

My buddy Jack, the SAG agent that I mentioned previously didn't feel memoirs had success in the marketplace unless they were about "celebrities." This may be true in many cases, but if you have a good story and a good publisher, the audience will follow!

In any event, this waiting period has allowed for new ideas to flourish and actually, I'm liking the new opening to my book. It's about a reoccuring dream with a past life connection.

My astrologer and friend David, feels strongly about Nicole Kidman and George Clooney as people who will be interested in my book. We'll see how the stars reveal the prediction later.

PSYCHIC ON CALL: Victoria lynn Weston

My weekend was nice with long walks and a gourmet dinner on Saturday night with my husband and friends. I'm busy compiling and editing all my 30 interviews of top psychics for the upcoming edition of Akashic Who's Who. This morning I came across an interview with a young journalist... thought I'd post. enjoy!

PSYCHIC ON CALL: VICTORIA LYNN WESTON

Professional psychic Victoria lynn Weston is a little bit eerie but amazingly accurate. An exclusive interview by Kevin Wilson.

Atlanta, Georgia (VictorialynnWeston.com) Every summer, thousands of followers of the psychic and spiritual arts flock to Lily Dale, in Western New York to revel in the energy of this quaint spiritual community nestled among a lush landscape on a lake. Victoria lynn Weston “a psychic and intuitive reader” was born near this spiritual community of psychics, mediums and spiritualists yet she’s only visited Lily Dale one time. “Actually, when I was about 18 years old, I consulted a charming, grandmotherly type medium that warned me never to go there! Her message was so intense that I took it as a confirmation to all the strange and spooky stories about Lily Dale that I had heard growing up. Years later, during my mid-thirties I made a visit the spiritual camp and found it quite peaceful.” Since childhood Victoria has always been fascinated by psychics and psychic phenomena and all through her life she has surrounded herself with other psychics, mediums and parapsychologists. “They were my friends, my mentors and they taught me how to develop my abilities,” says Victoria.

By the time she was 32 years of age she began her journey in which she would become known as “the corporate psychic”. “I was actually working as an advertising director for a small business magazine in Carmel, California. While sitting at my desk one morning, I got a strong intuitive flash. This was the seed I would plant to embark on my quest to educate mainstream about the benefits of psychic and intuitive information,” says Victoria.

Forget the mumbo jumbo esoteric information that one often associates with psychic readings. Clearly when you meet Victoria you instantly sense she’s not the fortuneteller type gazing over a crystal ball. In fact, you’re likely to find her fashionably dressed wearing Manolo Blahnik shoes. Among a select circle of individuals seeking psychic information for personal growth, business trends or simply for creative inspiration, Victoria generates much talk as the most accurate psychic on the planet. “I've always been fascinated, intrigued and a little scared about psychics,” confesses Nancy Ivey, a California entrepreneur. It was a friend who initially told me about Victoria and I bought her book, “Selecting Your Psychic, From MainStreet to WallStreet” -- after reading her book, I immediately sent her a letter and within seven days, I had my first appointment. We instantly connected as if we were kindred spirits. After the reading, which lasted about three hours, I was speechless. The information, the specifics and the immediate hits relating to my business just blew me away!” Now Nancy buys sessions for friends as gifts.

And should Victoria and her prophecies have a peer panel, she has met the standard. Some call her “the best psychic on the planet” and others call her “the psychic’s psychic” since her clientele includes other psychic practitioners.“I can’t speak highly enough of her”, says Steve Davison, President of Clean Control Corporation, makers of the leading odor eliminator ODOBAN. “Compared to other psychic readers, Victoria has been the most compelling and accurate psychic especially in issues relating to business. She also predicted when I would meet and marry my wife.” Other readers seemed to offer vague generalities that could apply to anyone.”

"An astrologer sees potential in a birth chart, but cannot tell from the chart alone, whether it is the chart of a saint or a criminal. A good psychic can tune in right away to whether or not someone has made good or bad choices in their life," says David R. Railey, author of The Soul Purpose.

"In 27 years of full time astrological practice I have never seen a chart so indicative of psychic capacity. Victoria is to me an "inspired" psychic, she not only senses what's going on with someone and depicts details about their future, but recognizes the key elements in each person that can help them create a more fulfilling life. Yes, to me, Victoria is as psychic as it gets," vouches David.

“Victoria was eerie but amazingly accurate,” says Lisa Thompson, a teacher. “At the time of our conversation, my husband was just let go from his job. She got a good vibe from a smaller company and believed we would move to Texas. I thought this was quite possible because I am originally from Texas. However, the one company Victoria felt strongly about was in Missouri. My husband accepted the job in Missouri, it took awhile for things to register for me. We moved to Houston, MO. It is located in Texas County. It is a little odd. The main road is Sam Houston Rd. The square is "The Lone Star Square" and there is even a Texas flag on the welcome sign.”

Consulting with a global clientele from such countries as Greece, Germany, London, Denmark, and The Netherlands keeps Victoria working from her home in Atlanta, Georgia where she handles her psychic readings over the telephone or via email. She’s an elite one-woman psychic consultant. She accepts new clients by referral and charges $250. for business consultations and $125. for personal consultations. “Ideally, I like people who have been referred by prior clients. This way I know these people are serious about a session.”

Victoria has the uncanny ability to see a person’s future. “It’s as though their soul is revealed to me by way of a movie. As I scan their mind, ‘their life‘s movie,’ I pick up segments from their movie reel. I‘m a clairvoyant so I see pictures, like ‘previews to a movie,’ and often with detailed clarity complete with names, initials including mundane information. But, all the information is useful if you understand the psychic reading.”Victoria was born to professional family in Chautauqua Lake, New York and states that she has been aware of her abilities since age childhood. “Unlike some people who are afraid of such intuitive or psychic flashes, I welcomed them. On the other hand, I rarely saw horrific events that frightened me,” says Victoria. When asked why people seek psychic and intuitive information, she answers with an explanation why people consult with psychologists or financial consultants or religious figures, “we have an insatiable appetite for information, for knowledge to help us grow personally, spiritually and financially. Psychic information is just that. Information that individuals use as an adjunct to their own fact and logic.”

Despite Victoria’s claim among her clients and peers, she is modest. “It’s always been my mission to impart practical psychic information and to educate people about the value of the psychic reading, how one receives such information and better still, how individuals learn to decipher and utilize the psychic reading.”

And then the big question, where does psychic information come from? Victoria smiles and says “all psychics employ at least two or three types of psychic abilities simultaneously such as intuition, clairvoyance and precognition.”

Victoria lynn Weston is a speaker, educator and documentary producer. She is currently working on her third book, "Victoria Speaking..."and is the author of "Selecting Your Psychic from Main Street to Wall Street" (1988), "Into The Future, The Next Millennium" (1990 Oscar Dey Publishing).

Victoria directed and produced the documentaries aired on PBS and Canadian Broadcast stations including America's Victoria, Remembering Victoria Woodhull featuring Kate Capshaw and Gloria Steinem, The Intuitive Factor features Jeffrey Mishlove, Ph.D., psychologist Dr. Marica Emery and Gary Zukav, and The Psychic Truth with Jeffrey Mishlove, Ph.D. and interviews with Alan Vaughn and Joseph McMoneagle. In addition, she is the founder of ZoieFilms.com, PsychicVista.com and AkashicUniversity.com. For information, classes and Akashic-news, visit http://www.VictorialynnWeston.com

Reconnecting with the past

It was a balmy morning when I was taking my routine six mile walk. My mind was spinning with ideas about my memoir, "Victoria Speaking..." and wondering if any of the three remaining agents would be excited about the book. Then the intuitive "ah-ha" came to mind. While leaving my former life as an aspiring actress in Los Angeles many years ago, I had worked with SAG agent, Jack Scagnetti.

Jack and I had had contact during the past 15 years, however, it had been about three years since he and I last spoke and it was regarding my documentary on Victoria Woodhull, "America's Victoria, Remembering Victoria Woodhull." I had also chatted with him about those supermarket mini-magazines tossing out the idea of psychic mini mags a couple years prior.

In any event, I felt compelled to contact Jack again and was delighted to see he was still working as a literary and SAG agent. We talked briefly about my memoir and how I wanted to pitch the book proposal to a Hollywood production company and sell the film rights. Was he interested? Yes!

The fear of rejection set in. Should I send Jack my proposal with three top literary agents reviewing my work? Yes. No. Maybe. Creative thinkers and writers have good days and bad days like everyone. I had a couple of negative days and found myself overcritical of my work. Luckily that mood didn't last long - I got fired up again and was thrilled to let Jack review my work.

Mercury is presently retrograde. Meaning this planet of communication gives the feeling that it is moving backwards causing all sorts of communication problems. And delays. My sense is it'll probably be after September 3rd, when Mercury goes direct that I will hear news. Good or bad. I'm ready!

Today is Friday the 13th. I'm betting it's going to be a lucky day for me.

Nicole Kidman - Victoria Woodhull

Hello,

Last December I began drafting my memoir, "Victoria Speaking..." and was excited about my "past life" connection with suffragist, spiritualist, Victoria Woodhull and interweaving her story with mine. Without giving you all the story details, "Victoria Speaking..." is as much about my life as it is about Victoria Woodhull. More intriguing it's a story about reincarnation -- finding soulmates through lifetimes.

On March 23rd, 2004, it was officially posted in the NY Post by Liz Smith; Nicole Kidman to play another Feminist Icon by Liz Smith Nypost

For some time, the writer Barbara Goldsmith and I have been talking about Nicole Kidman starring in the movie version of her national best seller, "Other Powers: The Age of Suffrage, Spiritualism and the Scandalous Victoria Woodhull."
Nicole would indeed be a natural to play the high priestess of free love, a woman who ran for president back in 1872 and fought the good fight for woman's rights. The very first option of Goldsmith's book came from Tom Cruise for Nicole, but that expired along with the Cruise-Kidman marriage. Now comes word that film rights have been bought by Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney's Section 8 production company. Soderbergh is to direct and "Seabiscuit" producer Kathleen Kennedy will produce, with a screenplay by Naomi Foner. The latter wrote "Running on Empty" and "Violets Are Blue," and is the mother of those hot Hollywood kids, Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal.

The even better news is that Nicole, who remains close to old friend Clooney, is still interested in starring. She told the author, "Tell them they better hurry up!" It is said Nicole also suggested her Aussie pal Naomi Watts to play Victoria Woodhull's free-wheeling sister, Tennessee, a courtesan who learned the tricks of the stock market in Commodore Vanderbilt's bed.

The story of Victoria Woodhull produced as a feature film biography has been floating around Hollywood studios for years. Oscar winner, James Toback (Bugsy) wrote his version of the "free love" suffragist, "Vicky" that Movieline magazine boosted: "the best screenplay never produced."

Several friends have been nudging me to pitch my book proposal, "Victoria Speaking..." to George Clooney's production company. More often than not, film rights to books are sold long before they are published. Like a teenager sitting on the edge of a lake dock, I dip my toe just baring touching the water... do I? Don't I? I feel if I do pitch Clooney's production company and he rejects it, afterall, they already have a screenwriter telling Woodhull's story as a historical movie. My idea is more modern infusing history into it. So... we shall see!

GEORGE CLOONEY

Yes folks, George Clooney's Production Company is slated to produce a feature film on Victoria Woodhull. As you know, in 1996, I produced the first documentary about the first woman to campaign for US President in 1872.

Victoria Woodhull was a suffragist, a clairvoyant, spiritualist. My documentary, "America's Victoria, Remembering Victoria Woodhull" includes interviews from feminist icon Gloria Steinem and other distinguished professors.

As I stated in my intro, "Victoria Speaking..." is my memoir, here is a quick synopsis;

Tale of Two Victorias: Atlanta Psychic Victoria Weston sees parallels between herself and 19th century clairvoyant Victoria Woodhull.” -- Atlanta Journal & Constitution

"Knowing about Victoria Woodhull inspires women to be daring, outrageous and creative." -- Gloria Steinem

Synopsis: "Victoria Speaking..."

"Victoria Speaking..." is my story . . . the story of how I as a professional psychic realized my fate was entwined with the life of Victoria Woodhull, an important historical figure from the late 1800s. This story takes readers on a magical journey that shares an unusual vision of the meaning of life. During the journey readers follow my life as a leading psychic, as I read signs that led to my finding and marrying my soul mate. "VICTORIA SPEAKING..." is a story filled with sizzling passion, the search for love that travels through different spaces, countries and times.

"Victoria Speaking..." represents the spirit of a fresh new wave of intuitive writing that is at once accessible and intriguing. This innovative memoir shares two fascinating lives--one from the past and my own, which was destined to succeed although I struggled with difficult circumstances, and numerous challenges. "Victoria Speaking..." is a work focused on the two Victoria's, and it is destined to be one of the most talked about books of our time.

So, you can imagine I sit here anxiously waiting to hear from my pending agents. I'll keep you posted!

enjoy your day!

"VICTORIA SPEAKING...." The Agent(s)

The good news is that I mailed via Fed Ex my extensive book proposals last Wednesday. After spending nearly all day at Kinkos making copies of my 40 page proposal and 50 media pages, my proposal was nicely presented in a 3-ring binder.

My cost was a hefty $300 for office supplies, copies and Fed Ex costs for overnight delivery to six agents. One agent is in NYC and five agents in California and one agent in Iowa. Iowa? Yes, that's right, Iowa.

This is my first attempt at publishing a book via an agent. After sending out about 30 query letters. Much to my delight I received 6 agents requesting my proposal for "Victoria Speaking..."

Maybe my table of contents was intimidating, maybe the OBE (out of body experiences) was more than this one, small agent in Encino, California could handle. This agent emailed me last Friday to pass on my project;

"I feel it is a conflict of interest as I represent a psychic presently."
Wow! I thought. "Representing one psychic" is like Haywood house only representing Sylvia Browne or an agency representing "one baseball player."

This agency was a small agency and intuitively I knew she wasn't the one I would have picked.

So.. the waiting game continues. Five agents remain who are reviewing my materials as I type.

enjoy your day!
